พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ทรงมีพระอัจฉริยภาพ ทางดนตรีเป็นที่ประจักษ์ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง เพลงบลูส์ พระองค ์ทรงพระราชนิพนธ์บทเพลงแนวบลูส์ไว้ถึง 48 เพลง โดย แสงเทียน
หรือ Candlelight Blues คือหนึ่งในบทเพลงพระราชนิพนธ์ลำดับแรกๆ ของพระองค์
ใน พ.ศ. 2549 ศิลปินไทยกว่า 100 คน จากทุกค่ายเพลงได้รวมตัวกัน เพื่อแสดงคอนเสิร์ตถวาย เนื่องในวโรกาสฉลองสิริราชสมบัติครบ 60 ปี และปีนี้ศิลปินเหล่านั้นจะมารวมตัวกันอีกครั้ง เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวโรกาส ที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว จะทรงมีพระชนมมายุครบ 80 พรรษา
การแสดงชุดนี้ เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองในวโรกาสที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว จะทรงมีพระชนมพรรษาครบ 80 พรรษา
นับเป็นโอกาสอันดี ในการดื่มด่ำบทเพลงพระราชนิพนธ์ของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ซึ่งหาฟังได้ยาก
นำแสดงโดยศิลปินชั้นนำมากมาย เช่น ฟอร์ด-สบชัย ไกรยูรเสน โก้-มิสเตอร์แซ็กแมน เจนนิเฟอร์ คิ้ม รัดเกล้า อมาระดิษ ฯลฯ
พงศ์พรหม สนิทวงศ์ ณ อยุธยา ซึ่งเป็นโปรดิวเซอร์ นักประพันธ์ และนักดนตรี เป็นผู้ทำงานเบื้องหลังของโครงการนี้

Presented by Thailand 's top singers His Majesty the King is an accomplished musician with 48 compositions to his credit, one of His first compositions was Candlelight Blues'. Over a 100 Thai artists, cutting across label lines came together in 2006, for this project in celebration of the 60 th Anniversary of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne. This year the artists will come together again in celebration of His Majesty the King's 80 th birthday.
