Detail

Before you know it, Bangkok's International Festival of Dance and Music is here again.  A Brand new edition, packed with more enchantment than ever.  It's a festival for all ages, inspiring and enthralling, opening minds and hearts, pushing the frontiers of excellence.  For the connoisseurs of the western classical traditions and for those discovering the joys of classical arts, it's a banquet of spectacular performances with two ballets by the century-old Ekaterinburg Ballet & Opera Theatre from the Russian Urals: Katya and The Prince of Siam and Cinderella, and two ballets by The Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre staged by the world-famous Yuri Grigorovich: Spartacus and Le Corsaire. There's also a high-talented symphony orchestra from Lithuania besides the acclaimed Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, and all-time favorite ballet from France Beauty and The Beast and ballet performance from Stuttgart The Taming of the Shrew. Complimenting the great classics is the mesmeric folk tradition of Spain, the sensuous flamenco, with Torera and Carmen by the legendary Antonio Andrade troupe from Spain.  And then there is a magical gift from Switzerland that's right up there with its chocolates and watches: a dazzling new production by the illusionist Peter Marvey -WOW! World of Wonder. Finally, it is time for nostalgia at its best, the magical romantic tragedy that's part Shakespeare, part New York and entirely captivating with the music of Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Soudheim: the big, Broadway musical, West Side Story. Come travel the world of performing arts in five weeks with you entire family.  Book your seats. Now!
