Na Muang waterfall in Samui island Not only many beautiful beaches you can ralex in Samui island but there are many places else that attract tourists to the beautiful island too. So let’s jump into the waterfall in the island call Na Muang waterfall. The waterfall among the tropical trees in the center of the island will surely clam you down from the heat of summer.
Na Muang waterfall is the most famous waterfall in Samui island with approximately 30-40 meters high. In the rainy season, it would be so much beautiful when there’s a lot of water run fall down to the ground. In the past, our 3 beloved kings had visited this waterfall; King Rama 5, King Rama 7 and King Rama 9. Currently, Department of Forestry has announced Na Muang waterfall as the national park
Na Muang waterfall 1 is located from Na Thorn port for 14 km
Tourists can visit Na Muang waterfall 1 without any charges, however, tourists who travelling by cars or motorcycles will be charged for 20-30 baht for entrance fees
There is the elephant riding service for tourists from 9.00 – 17.00 hrs (everyday)
On the ground of waterfall, there is small pond where tourist can take a rest and swim around so you will see most of tourists both Thais and foreigners taking a rest more than other places. However, to swim and walk around, tourists have to aware the slippery rocks that may cause accidents. Even though the road to Na Muang waterfall 1 is improved and convenient, to walk to the waterfall is not that easy. So, tourists who come with children may aware the difficulties of walking pass the slippery rocks but there is smaller pond beside the pond where tourists can also swim around too.
Another activity that attracts tourists is elephant riding in the jungle. Mahout will take us touring the jungle by riding an elephant passing many beautiful scenes of the jungle, also you can take photos with elephant too. Not only riding an elephant, after finish riding, you will have a chance to feed them in parking area. In the place nearby, there are restaurants and souvenir shops as well as resting corner for tourists too.
Not too far from Na Muang waterfall 1, there is Na Muang waterfall 2 located nearby which is more beautiful and higher. It is suitable for tourists who love adventure trying to walking through the jungle and this is much harder than Na Muang waterfall 1. This will take 30 minutes walk to the waterfall, so there are less tourists comparably to Na Muang waterfall 1. From Na Thorn port, taking the main road (High way 4169) and drive to Tumbon Na Muang for 14 km, you will see the entrance sign for Na Muang waterfall 1 on the left hand side then drive straight for 1 km then arrive the parking area of Na Muang waterfall 1.
