The last time this celebrated duo performed in Thailand was during a Royal Command performance for Her Majesty the Queen to celebrate the release of the bestseller movie SURIYOTHAI in 2002.
Since then Richard Harvey has scored the music for films like LUTHER, KING NARESUAN and DA VINCI CODE to name but a few and he has toured with British guitar godfather John Williams while Hucky has worked with legendary Indian Sitar maestro and Beatles Guru Ravi Shankar (also father of Norah Jones) on a concerto for guitar and orchestra and has produced various bestselling Thai music albums, including OFF BEAT SIAM by Thai Ranad virtuoso KHUN-IN Tosanga.
This year, popular demand and their wish to musically celebrate His Majesty the King's birthday has brought the two classical and world music virtuosi together again.
Besides performing one of the key themes from Harvey’s acclaimed score for the recent KING NARESUAN movies and the most popular tunes from their previous album SILK & BAMBOO, TOGETHER AGAIN will feature a selection from H&H’s new album due for release during early 2009.
Whereas SILK & BAMBOO focused on the serenity of music throughout the centuries, the new album showcases the faster tracks from South America to China, from Spain to I-sarn and from Korea to Ireland, emphasizing Hucky’s dazzling finger acrobatics alongside Richard’s incredible versatility on his unbelievable range of exceptional instruments (up to 25 instruments in a single concert!)
To add even more spice to the exciting show, special guest Dr. Li Guo Dong will contribute the charming sounds of his Erhu (Chinese violin) to the Chinese selections of the program.
Prepare yourself for beautiful music, brilliantly played!

FAR EASTERN ECONOMIC REVIEW
Hucky and Harvey ....... both are world class, but stuck on the musical language of the East. Together they purvey a musical hotchpotch of East and West, an alchemy of styles that is difficult to pigeonhole. ....
THE BANGKOK POST, Thailand
HUCKY & HARVEY toured in triumph all over Thailand.
Their “Silk and Bamboo” performance has been met with a tremendous susccess. The “amazing two man orchestra” provoked enthusiatic responses from sell-out houses, each of their performances completely booked and ending with standing ovations.
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE ADVERTISER, England
Stunning guitar and recorder work. Two first class musicians.
No one’s ever played the guitar like that. I hadn’t known anyone else to get such flowing tone or use such brilliant fingerwork - and I’ve heard Segovia, Julian Bream and John Williams.....
NEUE RUHR ZEITUNG, Germany
Celebrated “Gitarreros” - Festival of standing ovations
... a truly memorable performance by Hucky Eichelmann and Richard Harvey.
Standing ovations crowned this evening.
BADISCHE ZEITUNG, Germany
The Crowning Finale of the Markgräfler Guitar Festival. The quintessence of exclusive quality and versatility. Solo and in Duet through a world exhibition of musical cultures. Samples of subtle string art with overwhelming technique and emotional depth.
Breathtaking tempi ....... From Irish Folk, Dance Music of the Renaissance up to a cheeky but stylish culture mix with flying changes of instruments, the two presented such an enjoyable “Listening Show” that several encores were unavoidable. An evening of superlatives with two true universal geniuses.
" Throughout my life I have sought to combine to the two great loves of my Life...... music and travel... striking a good balance has not always been easy! The last decade has kept me very busy scoring films (Animal Farm, Jane Eyre, Defence of the Realm, Arabian Nights, Da Vinci Code and of course the Thai epics Suriyothai and Naresuan) locked away in a darkened room with my piano and piles of blank music paper waiting to be filled in!
Well ...now I've decided to escape for a while.
Through an excellent series of co-incidences I managed to enter the world of Khun Hucky Eichelmann, the most eminent classical guitarist in South East Asia. We struck up a great rapport at once and teamed up to give concerts as Hucky and Harvey. Some witty soul kindly called us "the extraordinary two man orchestra"!
Before the time when composition became such a big part of my life I used to play solo flute concerts in small churches and chateaux in the southern part of France. Ever since those days I've been totally hooked on the idea of taking music to out of the way places and to people who might have never had a concert in their town or village.
Well now, with one guitar case and a suitcase full of flutes, panpipes, whistles, things banged, plucked and bowed ... plus a couple of flight tickets, with Khun Hucky's help I can achieve that ambition.
I can now look forward to sharing music with many wonderful people in the future... the Hucky and Harvey project is on the road!! "
