Winner of many international awards, including both the coveted Tony Award and Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical, superstar Lea Salonga shot to international stardom in 1989. Following a yearlong worldwide search, she was chosen for the lead role as Kim in the world premiere of Miss Saigon in Londons West End, a role she later repeated when the musical opened on Broadway in 1991. Other roles she has performed include both Eponine and Fantine in Les Misérables on Broadway and in London, and most recently the lead role in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Cinderella. A true Disney Princess, Lea Salonga can be heard on screen as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Disney's blockbuster hit movie Aladdin and of Fa Mulan in Mulan and Mulan 2.
A superb solo artiste, Lea Salonga has given concerts in many major concert halls including such prestigious venues as New Yorks Carnegie Hall and the iconic Frank Gehry designed Disney Hall in Los Angeles. Lea Salonga returns to Bangkok following her sold-out concert at the Queen Sirikit Convention Centre in September 2009.
